Mango Turmeric Tang - Tea Box
This tea caught me by surprise the moment it's name caught my eye. Fundamentally, I couldn't have imagined turmeric in a tea not even a mango for that matter. However, if I consider it a fruit infusion, I'm in good terms with the mango. But, turmeric ??? However, I was excited to try it and then decide upon how it is designed and what does the combination have to offer me in terms of tea.
As I opened the pack and took the first fragrance of it, I was lost further. The look and fragrance of this tea is more like a tea time snack and I was compelled to check the instructions on the packing to make sure its a 'tea' and not any 'accompaniment'. It smells exactly like a mildly spiced, semi-sweet & salted chiwda (mixture often used as an evening snack accompaniment). The tea is largely yellow in colour with small broken tea leaves in light green (resembling more to the look of lemon grass).
Post brewing: The colour of the tea is very light yellow and looks good and refreshing. But, I do have my reservations about its fragrance.
Taste: Honestly, the tea does not taste even a bit like its fragrance...thankfully so! It has a very mild taste of turmeric and a mild mango flavour post-brewing. In my opinion it would feel the best when you are feeling low in a dull monsoon climate. With its turmeric properties, it would give the best benefits to those seeking relief from weakness and stress caused due to the seasonal health issues. Also, it is best suited to bring relief from fatigue and tiredness. Refreshes the mind in a medicinal way.
Fragrance = -2 stars (it's not fit for a tea- purely my opinion)
Look & Feel post-brewing = +3 stars (a beautiful sun-kissed yellow and a mild and smooth texture to the potion)
Taste = +2.5 stars (good only if you are feeling low and unwell in monsoon, don't think it would fit any other mood)
